Fast by Ferraci Husqvarna's Paul Carpenter suffered a scary crash in the first 125cc heat race when another rider landed on him over the finish double. Carpenter broke his helmet and cut up his face in the fall, and laid in the track for several laps while medical personnel attended him. AMA MX Manager Duke Finch's new policy of posting a red-cross (no jumping) flag on finish jumps proved a wise decision here.

Rich's Response: There should be a red-cross flag on every jump!
