From: District 14 News, May 2000, p. 3

Polka Dots Motorcycle Club and District 14 member, Jim Wazny, lost his leg and severely broke his arm while riding at Polka Dots club grounds on Sunday April 15th. Jim has a two-year-old son Austin at home and Jim's Wife Stacey has a new bundle of joy due within the next ten days. This tragedy that the Wazny family has suffered can be lightened, if we the riders of D-14 step up and help a brother out. Send your Donations to:

    Jim Wazny
    1316 East Kent Road

Rich's Response: We hated to put this in on what actually happened, but we have to because this was a tragic accident. Jim and his friends had been working on the track and when Jim took one last lap to check it out, he didn't realize that somebody was behind the jump with a backhoe and he landed on the machinery. We have heard of other instances similar to this one and of people hitting equipment parked near tracks. This is a family that could really use a donation, we are sending a check.
