Finally, a top magazine prints the truth!
The cover story in the May 2002 issue of
Dirt Rider, written by Scott Hoffman, discusses how dangerous supercross has
become.
This article included a "Notable Injury

Michael Byrne: Cracked rib, chipped ankle, collapsed lung
Ricky Carmichael: Concussion, broken bond in his hand
Mike Craig: Broken foot

Rich's Response: These injuries are just the tip of the iceberg. At the time of
this report the supercross season was only halfway through.
Also: Cycle News (March 6, 2002) printed a positive editorial
advocating safer tracks for supercross and motocross. The writer's main
point was that we need to make tracks safer for our riders or there won't be any
left to watch.
