This is a news excerpt from a track in WV. This track has only been open
since the Spring of '01 and features many double and triple jumps. They have
had numerous injuries in addition to this fatality. Management claims
that the riders are aware of the inherent risk of MX and are instructed
to "take it easy" on the first lap to familiarize themselves with the
track. I don't get the feeling that they are too concerned.

Md. man dies in ATV accident
MARTINSBURG -- A Maryland man has died after being thrown from his
all-terrain vehicle at a Berkeley County motocross track.
Kenneth Kent. Jr., 20, of Brandywine, Md., died of head and other
injuries Sunday night after he was thrown from his ATV at Mountaineer
Raceway in Inwood.
State Police Sgt. M.A. Carte said Kent lost control on the first of two
jumps he was attempting. It was his first visit to the track.
Rich's Response: Racer's don't take it easy. We're all tough
guys. Another jump death with an amateur. What are these promoters
thinking? Does anybody else have any feedback on this track? And has the
promoter redesigned any of the track?
